Certified Hand Therapy
You may be a candidate for hand therapy if you have pain, stiffness, weakness or swelling in your hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder causing dysfunction in your work and/or daily activities of living. Our Certified Hand Therapist uses evidence-based practices to evaluate from your shoulder to the tips of your fingers treating injuries and conditions of the upper extremity (shoulder, arm, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand). Helping you return to your highest level of function, CHTs use a number of therapeutic interventions tailored to your needs, have practiced hand therapy for a minimum of three years, are required to participate in ongoing, extensive continuing education in order to uphold licensure in addition to passing a rigorous certification examination. Amanda Reardon OTR/L, CHT has been a licensed CHT for over fifteen years.
Choosing The Carlisle Place for hand therapy will provide you with extensive hands-on treatment, including massage and other manual techniques in order to help alleviate your symptoms. Personalized treatment will provide guided exercises and education to fit your needs. Hand therapy intervention has the potential to help you avoid or prevent the need for surgery. If surgery is necessary, it will help provide a quick and efficient post-operative recovery.
