PRE and POST SURGICAL REHABILIATION

If you are getting ready for surgery be sure to call us to set an appointment for pre-surgical therapy. Our physical therapists address range of motion, balance and strength. Plus, we’ll educate you about the procedure, what to expect and how to prepare. Studies show those who have pre-surgical therapy have a better outcome after surgery. The road to recovery doesn’t have to wait until after surgery.  Undergoing rehabilitation after surgery with a physical therapist is essential to maximizing your physical potential.  It will speed up your recovery time and help you get the most out of the surgery you received.

SPORTS RELATED INJURIES

There are a wide range of sports related injuries in which physical therapy can benefit the patient in speeding up the recovery and reducing pain. The specific strategies used by the physical therapist will vary as widely as the type of sports injuries.

FALL RISK PREVENTION

Our therapists provide comprehensive fall risk assessment and treatment for patients who have fallen or who are at risk for falling.

Falls are not a normal part of aging. Falls can get more serious over time, but the risks can be reduced by working on all the possible causes. Helping you avoid falls is something we should be able to help you do.

INSTRUMENT ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION

Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization is a technique used by therapists to treat soft tissue disorders.  Specialized tools are used in place of the therapist's hands to manipulate the skin, muscles, tendons and the myofascial to improve function and performance.

CHRONIC PAIN

Chronic pain has been defined as pain that lasts more than 12 weeks.  Chronic pain causes the brain to continue sending pain signals even after an injury has healed. Chronic pain can occur in different locations of the body for different reasons. It’s important to accurately diagnose the root cause of chronic pain so it can be effectively treated.  After evaluation of your clinical examination our therapists will help educate you about your chronic pain and create an individualized treatment program that targets the root problem.

TREATMENT WITH THE MCKENZIE METHOD

Evaluation of your pain by a therapist trained in the McKenzie Method or Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) will determine your treatment strategy and provide lifelong applications for preventing future back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain and more.  Therapeutic treatment is more effective, less expensive, avoids unnecessary diagnostic testing and teaches you lifelong techniques in avoiding future episodes.
